ive been hearing these wonderful stories of how soft the games were a couple yrs ago/how great party was/how much harder the games are now in relation. unfortnately for me, i got into poker a little bit late and missed these alleged "glory days".for those of you who experienced it - were the games that much better back then? it almost seemed to good to be true

Yes... they were everything you can imagine and more. Usually the higher up you went the more people were spewing chips... all kinds of crazy limit games especially... crazy [censored] like b/3betting with Q high and all sorts of nonsense like every hand.

If you went back 3 years, I could probably teach someone that simply knew the rules of poker to beat the 15/30 limit games on party, in 4 hours.

Xaston - that's pretty funny because that was me 2-3 years ago. In 2005, I cashed about $60,000 out of Party Poker, mostly from the 15/30 game. It was from 2006 to present that I realized I actually suck at poker and that I was A) getting lucky back then and more importantly B) those games were unbelievably soft.

10+1 SNG's would frequently be down to 5 players by the 2nd round.
Now you're lucky to have one knucklehead at the $5 SNG's. |
