Default AJo BB

Quite rusty, been playing about a hand/month for the last six months or so.

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (4 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, Button raises, SB 3-bets, Hero caps, Button calls, SB calls.

Flop: (12 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB folds.

Turn: (7 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

River: (9 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets

First hand at the table with no stats on anybody. Good? Bad? Indifferent? I guess, how often does he fold AK, AJ, 88 here?

Against good players you could play this way but also check/fold the river. But like you said we have no info.

You showed strenght and button does not fold. Its difficult that Button has AK,AJ,88 or some lower pocket pair. Doubt you have 9% equity on your bluff. And if he has AK or lower pocket pair, he will probably call, because the pot is so big. Also AJ would probably raise on flop.

All said, the situation is desperate. You could check and hope you get checked behind by Ax or bottom pair and save a bet, since you are representing a good hand that want to se a river.

But given that this is your first hand, you probably must call the river because you have to see who this guy is, and show to rest of players, that they can't push you around, because you are not a folder.
I dont think we are in a position in which the better hand will "always" bet and worse will check.

Final but close decision Check/Call, only because is the firs hand.

I would problably only call preflop, but thats another story.

I want to hear some other opinions

Good Variance
