Still think it\'s an internet conspiracy by the Paul campaign?
Ron Paul leads all republican candidates with financial support from military personnel at 53%:
http://thespinfactor.com/thetruth/20...can-candidates Numbers are for the July quarterly report of donations exceeding $200 (where listing one's employer is required). |

I really hope Paul runs as an independent after he doesn't get the nomination. We desperately need to hear the things he has to say about foreign policy. I think his domestic economic views are crackpot, but we really need his input on imperialism, ESPECIALLY since he's being listened to by the folks carrying the military burden of empire.

If you like his views on foreign policy, you should be a little less dismissive and consider the overall ideology that those allows for those clear and honest views. |

Re: Still think it\'s an internet conspiracy by the Paul campaign?
Someone want to explain the numbers for me? Paul got 24,000 dollars from military in Q2? That seems pretty underwhelming, I guess they aren't big givers to politicians.
At first I thought it was 24,000 gave 200 dollars or more, but that would mean well in excess of 4.8 million and obviously wrong as well. |

Re: Still think it\'s an internet conspiracy by the Paul campaign?
Looks like Mr. Paul also got $500 from someone who works for Halibiurton....
http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q...C00432914.html whereas Guliani got $0 from Haliburton employees!? http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2007/Q...C00430512.html Thats an evil ratio of 500:0, which is equal to "err: divide by 0" according to my TI-83 calculator. ruh roh |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm guessing there is some sort of explanation why this is less incredible than it first appears. Maybe the vast majority of military money is raised in Q1, but Paul's message at the debates inspired some anti-Iraq military folk to give, or something like that. I really have no idea, but this certainly isn't bad news for him. |

[/ QUOTE ] When you consider that he got 50% of the total donations from the military its pretty significant. The total dollars are going to be higher since these numbers are from those who gave >$200 and recorded their military branch. |
