It\'s been a while
30/60 Stud 8
6 brings in, I complete with (78)A with 3 bricks and a 7 behind me. They all fold and the bring calls. On 4th, I catch 8 and he catches 3. I bet he calls. On 5th, I make open 8s and he catches a 2. I bet he just calls. On 6th, the boards are: Me: (78)A886 Him: (xx)6322 I bet and he now raises...3-bet or just call down? |

Re: It\'s been a while
I think it's a 3-bet. Since he hasn't raised til now, he's probably just made a set of 2s and is still drawing for low (probably 27 or 28 in the hole). He's also probably putting you on Aces up. If he's filled up, I can't reasonably put him on a hand that he otherwise would have raised or folded earlier.

Re: It\'s been a while
It sure looks like trip 2's. How many people would smooth call 5th with a straight?! I 3bet this.

Re: It\'s been a while
This sure looks like trip Deuces. Even if he has a Six draw to go with it, you're a significant favorite. I think a three-bet is in order.
Of course, the other possibility is that he slow-played a Six-high straight, in which case you're in trouble. That would mean that he only called with 654 on third and only called with 6543 on fourth. No one I've played $30/60 against is that timid. |

Re: It\'s been a while
Id probably three bet unless you thought this guys was super tricky or he was incredibly passive. Most people would pop it either on fourth or fifth if they had what he is representing.

Re: It\'s been a while
hahahahha. pump it up my friend and if you get 4 bet, i may or may not fold a seventh brick depending on game time conditions. (it would be one of my more bigger laydowns)
it's likely he has trips and a better low draw working but with one card coming you are the favorite. (i don't need two dimes to tell me that) v. possible he has just a set and even if his baby two pair turned into a boat. your cards are all live, whether you chop out with a low or catch a boat card. i'd bet river if i'm improved in either direction as it's highly unlikely he can beat you both ways while he'll call you down if he has just trip 2s. if opponent slowplayed the straight on 5th, god bless his heart. |
