Re: Ace High I Call
looks like a planned stop and go.
What hands would he run a planned SNG with? |

Re: Ace High I Call
Is it even possible to raise to 1234? And why that number?
That said, I make this call. I can't credit my opponent for a hand better than mine. Probably has a draw. Maybe he had A6 or something like that. |

Re: Ace High I Call
Serious question about the preflop raise.
Do you notice ANY difference in what sort of action you get when you raise a normal amount (like 1200 here) vs. a weird amount (like 1234 here)? |

Re: Ace High I Call
This is all read/gut dependent. I don't think you can study/plan/logically comment on this that much. It's reasonable given a read.

looks like a planned stop and go. What do you have his planned sng range as being? [/ QUOTE ] I have a hard time weighing the different possibilities, but I think it basically comes down to pocket pairs and overcard hands i beat, in some mixture. I mean, it's not AK, and it isn't too likely he flopped a pair. Based on what I'd seen, I expected to get shoved preflop a decent amount of the time, and I def. thought he would shove pairs pre, but then he stopandgoed and of course that makes sense from a pair. 2x pot stop and go seems silly with a pair tho, on this flop, i mean i know stopandgoes are "planned" and it doesn't matter what the baord is, but this is a terrible flop to overbet shove if he has like 88, and three stopandgo pairs flopped sets; there are so many better ways to get the money in. |

[/ QUOTE ] i've been screwing around with this lately, mostly cuz i am playing way too many multis and get bored. i think it might affect the action, but i'm not quite sure how yet. the main reason i do it is that usually it doesn't matter to me if i raise to 2.75x or 3x or 3.5 times bb, but occasionally i'll have a specific reason to raise more or less, and if i've been raising random numbers, it's easier to raise the amount I want without anyone thinking about it, compared to raising 3x every time and then raising 2.5x or 3.5x or 4x. |

Re: Ace High I Call
I get chastised for raising weird numbers all of the time. One reason I like to do it, is because it apparently annoys other players. Plus, it makes a big [censored] stack of chips appear on the table, and I like big [censored] stacks of chips.
