Re: Giving them rope
Hot. In general though you should bet out 4th and then act like you're weak. If he 3-bets 5th, I would just call and bet out a blank on 6th.

Re: Giving them rope
I like it. I think this line, c/r on 4th, or a lead on 4th are all reasonable. This line is usually my favorite though.

Re: Giving them rope
I'd probably just reraise third, but I'm boring. As played, I'd probably just bet out 4th, maybe checkraise it. If I check-call 4th, I'd prob bet 5th and hope he raises with a draw/pair combo or whatever so I can raise it again.

Re: Giving them rope
This is fine. Jeffage's line is fine. As long as money goes in and you don't fold, I don't think it makes that much difference what you do.

Re: Giving them rope
Check raise 4th at this point.
If your 9 were an off 2 you could wait till 5th, but too many cards you catch on 5th will either force you to bet or risk a check behind. Plus, if he has a higher pair in the hole, a spade dropping on 5th may win you the pot outright after a raise. |

He looked up "3 Q's huh?" and mucked. Which means he had split 6's, buried T's or some other busted crap.
I posted because this line was just for his type. They play strong and keep the lead unless given a reason not to. I normally take the lead as others have suggested. In this case, I knew he'd keep betting and I'd at least get 5th out of him. Not a big fan of FPS, but these type of guys make it easy. Tx for the responses. |

Re: Giving them rope
I bet 4th street, crossing my fingers that he will raise. Your doing this not only for this hand, but setting up a play on future hands so he fears the leading bet, knowing you will not always check to the raiser. Meta game.
