Re: $5.50 - HU - FH on board
I hate the preflop call. I probably fold preflop, planing to push next time. I think a bet of 200 accomplishes what you need on the flop and saves you 100 chips which is significant at this point. River fold.

I hate the preflop call. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe I do it too often but I tend to follow Harrington who says that you should never fold SB pre-flop. I am getting odds of 3.5:1 to call. |

Re: $5.50 - HU - FH on board
Harrington is not talking about low M situations like this. If the blinds were 25/50 or something you would never fold preflop because of the odds. If your stack was like 4000 with these blinds you're too big to push so calling is fine, but with 1600 it's still too much of your stack.
You're heads up really early, but you still don't want to call too much. Your stack is too small to make any moves, and calling every hand is costing you way too much of your stack. Also a lot of good players will push any 2 cards if you call, or they will call and bet the flop no matter what they hold if you check. So calling a lot will get a lot of pots stolen from you and waste chips that you want when you push. |
