Default Fold top pair?

Observations on villain after only about 15 hands: first hand I noticed he played at the table he cold-called my open raise with T7s, flopped a flush draw and raised, hit it on turn, I paid off. He looked up my holding (or had PAHUD or something) and taunted me about it in chat. Subsequently I've seen him raise preflop, c-bet 100% and slow down on the turn with anything less than top pair.

Ok here goes. $5/10 online.

QJo on the button. I open raise, villain in SB 3bets, we take the flop heads up.

Flop is JT7 rainbow. He bets and I call.

Turn is 3, completing rainbow. He checks, I bet, he check-raises.

Choices seem to be fold, call down, or call and fold river UI. I can't see the last one being right getting only 7-1.

How do you choose between the other two?

Guy.

I need a more solid read before I fold this (and even then I'd probabbly still play off :P)

TPGK in a blind battle vs a player you have played only 15 hands with is something you don't fold imho.

This player seems fairly aggressive so you'll have the best hand enough to call down imo.

I'm definetly calling down, but I also really want to raise the flop to get some extra bets in with what is likely to be the best hand against this guy. The board is a bit too draw heavy in the mid range for us to get that many decent turn cards to pop the turn

I'm not folding. I'd also raise the flop if he's checking alot of turns UI.

In the last 100,000 hands ive played I cant recall a time I was screwplayed on the turn and actually won with this type of hand. I'm still calling down however. Empirical evidence be damned.

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. See showdown.

Why didn't you raise the flop?

Thought I was most likely losing. Plus I'd temporarily forgotten about his tendency to slow down on the turn when he didn't have the goods.

If you're losing with flopped top pair against an opponent who c-bets that much, you shouldn't be calling the 3-bet pre-flop.
