No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 6 players Converter Stack sizes: Hero: $217.25 UTG+1: $140.88 CO: $147 Button: $197 SB: $153.50 BB: $183.25 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $8</font>, UTG+1 calls, CO calls, 3 folds. Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($27, 3 players) Hero checks, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 bets $8</font>. Uncalled bets: $8 returned to UTG+1. Turn: : ($27, 2 players) Results: Final pot: $27 I can't think of any hand he bets this small with that calls a big raise and and psb on the turn. Then main problem is that I'm oop and if he calls turn, I don't wanna have to check/call a big river bet with A hi. |

Re: Check raising flop with AQ on J98 board?
Tx? 8x? Who knows. One thing to consider is that since you hit TPTK 1/3 of the time when you raise AK (slightly smaller percentage when you raise AQ since you could hit a KQx flop, but still close), having two callers preflop gives you a pretty much even-money overlay to hit top pair postflop. When you only hit a gutshot and you're out of position, this isn't a spot where you should feel the need to fight for the pot. As gross as folding to tiny ass bets feel, I just fold.
