NL50 Stack a Donk with AA
Sadly, it turns out that I'm the donk.
Firstly, no Hud on Everest (AFAIK) so no stats but generally that site is very loose passive and I hadn't played a hand with this guy so I guess he was pretty tight. Also, I don't know of a HH converter for Everest so I've tried to make it readable. EverestPoker Game #2211420026: Table Doha-37 - $0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em - 05:31:10 - 2007/10/14 Seat 1: Galudon ($59.82) Seat 2: Lynce13 ($8.00) Seat 3: Billy1000 ($43.65) Seat 4: Madcow75 ($20.70) Seat 5: yostyle ($58.27) Seat 6: Numfar ($53.70) Madcow75 posts the small blind of $0.25 yostyle posts the big blind of $0.50 Lynce13 posts $0.50 The button is in seat #3 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Numfar[Ad As] Numfar raises to $2.25 Galudon folds Lynce13 folds Billy1000 folds Madcow75 folds yostyle calls $1.75 *** FLOP *** [Kc Js 3d] Pot = $5.25 yostyle bets $2.50 Numfar raises to $8.00 yostyle calls $5.50 *** TURN *** [Kc Js 3d] [6h] Pot = $21.25 yostyle checks Numfar bets $15.00 yostyle raises to $30.00 Numfar raises to $43.45 and is all-in yostyle calls $13.45 I have a problem with hands like this because I feel as though once I commit to betting the Turn, I have put half my chips in and I can't fold. Unfortunately, I'm never ahead as far as I can tell. Do I just fold to the c/r or am I too committed & I'm up against AK or KQ enough? |

Re: NL50 Stack a Donk with AA
if you don't want to play for stacks then check behind turn. If you do want to play for stacks then how you played it is fine. Typically against a tight passive player I'm trying to avoid playing for stacks with 1 pair.

Re: NL50 Stack a Donk with AA
Well, I do want to play for stacks - but his, not mine. I think the bet on the turn is correct because villain will often just call down with his KQ & I'm losing value if I check behind. The problem is that everything changes when he c/min-raises me.

Re: NL50 Stack a Donk with AA
simple answer. don't raise pf with aa, only reraise pf with aa then you're chances of getting stacked by a +ev set go to 0

OP - If you don't mind getting it in, the turn bet is fine, you can even make it like 12.5 if you want. I think it's an okay hand, sorry you lost to KJ or 33 |

[x] really born in 1914 [/ QUOTE ] Little known fact: Raising with AA wasn't invented until 1935 by one of Hitler's associates. So remember that whenever someone beats you with a raised AA, you are entitled to tell them they are using Nazi tactics. |

I probably just call his flop bet though raise sometimes. As played I definitly check behind on turn. The only real draw is QT and you have 2 of that hand's outs. I'd just call flop to keep his range wider..pair of K's, pair of J's, or whatever garbage...and let him keep firing with it. As played I check behind on turn to control the pot. The only hands you'd beat that you'd get 3 streets of value from anyway are AK,KQ,and maaayybe KT. |
