LC: IRC chat?

I know a bunch of 2+2ers hang out in various IRC rooms or whatever... what program does one use to like... get on IRC? I'm a total computer noob and I basically have AIM, and I don't even have that anymore since I can't remember my password (used to be saved, reg'd to an email addy that has since expired, etc)
