How do you guys know when to push?
I see people making lots of references to how profitable it is to push when sngs are down to 4-5 people. What do you use to make such decisions? I mean, personally, I push only when I'm first in the pot. I usually push K8+, 55+, A7+ (approximation). How do you guys know when to push or when not to push when you are multitabling sngs?

What I do is I flip a coin. Heads I push, tails I fold.

Re: How do you guys know when to push?
Learn how and when to use ICM calculations. That's all SNGPT does anyways.

Re: How do you guys know when to push?
i agree this helps, but you can develope your own instincts over time. I would suggest picking this tool up of course, but I think playing at least 1000 SNGs before buying is better. Then once you think you understand it, check your plays. The program makes a lot more sense when you have a good feeel for the concept. I only bought it a few days ago, and I play SNGs for a living. Experience is the key really.

[ QUOTE ] learning with SNGPT [/ QUOTE ] that costs way too much $ [/ QUOTE ] SNGPT is a very fast way to do ICM calculations. If you have the time, and are willing to do it, you can use the free equity calculator at www.pokerstove.com and read up on how to do the calculations yourself. |

Can anyone provide a link for instructions on how to do this yourself?
Thanks, Mike |
