Also, bet flop. Repop turn. Only 44 realistically beats u.

Re: Flopped set from blinds.. in trouble
I'm a stickler for this... a set is when you have a concealed pocket pair that makes three of a kind. What you have is TRIPS, which is different.
Out of the blinds, and into a field of three opponents, with a possible flush draw, I think not betting the flop is a pretty serious mistake. You don't have enough information on the river, precisely because you don't know where you're at on the flop. The whole hand plays differently if you bet. |

it's an easy call without the hearts. i'd pay this off anyway and hope to see a weaker 8 or KQ.

is checking the flop that bad? was looking for maybe a check raise, but then I guess betting out has more chance of getting paid plus protecting hand. Repop turn, he shoves... I guess we're calling here? |

Re: Flopped trips from blinds.. in trouble
yeah if he shoves turn, you're definitely calling. he might have 44, but then that's what you get for not betting flop. he prolly doesn't have qq or kk since they didn't raise pf.
i agree with others - bet flop to make everything else either. yeah, a lot of the times they'll fold and you won't make much, but that's poker. i'm also taking enough stabs at paired boards that i have to bet when i actually do have something to balance it. check-raise on flop gives your hand away, imo. |
