25NL AK IP in 3bet pot
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (9 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
saw flop|saw showdown MP2 ($35.25) MP3 ($24.90) CO ($24.15) Hero ($24.65) SB ($28.20) BB ($6.85) UTG ($31.65) UTG+1 ($6.90) MP1 ($24.30) Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.25, UTG+1 calls $0.25, 1 fold, MP2 raises to $1, 2 folds, Hero raises to $3.5, 2 folds, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP2 calls $2.50. This is my usual reraise size, making it incorrect for smaller pairs to call me. (I think) Flop: ($7.85) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) MP2 checks, Hero checks. I hit the flop, and get checked to. I figure villain's range is JJ+/AQ+ (maybe TT, not sure). I check behind, planning to c/r a blank turn. I'll win a bet from JJ/QQ/KK and maybe get AQ to call, thinking I'm bluffing. Turn: ($7.85) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Villain makes a pretty big fooking bet on turn, and I raise as planned. Villain thinks for a moment and calls and I'm expecting to see (in order of likelihood) AK/AQ/KK/QQ/TT/JJ MP2 bets $7, Hero raises to $21.15, MP2 calls $14.15. River: ($50.15) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Final Pot: $50.15 Was my plan okay? Not that I usually post results, but villain showed down 77 and I'm wondering if my pfr raise ensure he was making a mistake by calling. |

Re: 25NL AK IP in 3bet pot
Your raise PF was enough. He wasn't getting good enough implied odds to setmine here. That being said, while I understand your check behind on the flop, I'm betting that flop darn near every time. There are a good number of turn cards that I dont want to see at all, and I'm gonna be happy winning a smallish pot with TPTK right now.

Re: 25NL AK IP in 3bet pot
Your pfr looks fine. With the 2 limpers though I usually make this $4 here but whatever. I bet this flop virtually always.

Re: 25NL AK IP in 3bet pot
PFR is fine.
Bet the flop, another diamond either beats you or kills your action. Also good for your cbets if you bet the goods. |

Re: 25NL AK IP in 3bet pot
I would usually bet the flop here b/c people w/KK and QQ sometimes find a hero call but if you think they'll go with ya this line is fine too.

Re: 25NL AK IP in 3bet pot
I donīt like the turnraise. Hands like JJ are never calling but an aggro player might fire again on the river with a worse hand.

I don't like the way you played this hand, but I don't think it's bad either.

Re: 25NL AK IP in 3bet pot
ya...bet 5.5 on the flop.
u should know that ur turn raise looks much stronger than just betting. its gonna fold out AQ for sure. |
