Short Advice Post Ever
I notice a lot of posts where people don't raise enough. Stuff like-- someone bets .20 into a $1 pot and the hero raises it to .50.
Stop it. I used to have this problem. Figure out what a pot sized bet is (whats already in the pot PLUS how much there will be once you MATCH what's already been bet). This is closer to what a real raise should usually be. For many, it will seem like a really big bet. That's because everyone is so used to underbetting. You're giving your opponents incredible odds to call and draw out on you. Stop betting 5bb into a 20bb pot. This is NOT a value bet. And it will never make someone fold. And if someone raises you you will never know if its a bluff because you look so damn weak. so stop it. that is all. |

Cliffs Notes:
Pot sized raise = 2xhis bet + what was in the pot. Make 'em. |

Re: Short Advice Post Ever
there was PLO hand that someone posted once that had like 50 minraises in it by a bunch of people who obviously didn't take the game too seriously.

[ QUOTE ]
Poneez, with your minraises PF you obviously didn't get the memo [/ QUOTE ] I don't minraise pre, except that one 4-betty hand. But that was totally abnormal. Usually I make it 13BB when I 3-bet. So shuv it, duder. |
