200NL: aces up, 120bb all-in bad?
Live 200NL 3/5 game.
I have about $600. Villain is chip leader and has been playing tight. I have no idea what the table thinks of my image. I mixed it up a lot, stacking people with Aces, bluffing all-in with 5 high with no draws, folding JJ preflop after raising 1/3 of my stack (rightly so to KK and AK all-in's), etc... Preflop: I have A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in CO 2 limpers, I raise to $15, BB(villain) calls, 2 limpers call. Flop ($60): A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] checks to me, I bet $35, BB raises to $100, folds to me What can I put villain on? I decided to push. Is this generally bad? Do I want to get it all-in here? If so, how would you do it? If not, when do I fold or how should I excercise pot-control so I'm not committed on the river? |

It's live you need to raise more PF.
Bet more on the flop. I really don't like your push. If villain is tight like you say, I like a fold here. |

Re: 200NL: aces up, 120bb all-in bad?
villain is chip leader in a cash game?
your push is not getting called by any worse hands... if this is later on in the tourney and the blinds are much larger relative to your stack then the push is fine |

Re: 200NL: aces up, 120bb all-in bad?
You guys are right. I pushed, villain tanks but eventually makes the call with pocket K's. I realized my mistake after I did it.
But it didn't seem like I could fold to a $65 raise with a $200 pot. I thought I would have to at least call with position. Do you fold on the flop or wait and re-evaluate on the turn and fold to large raise (>$175)? |
