Basic situation, but no reads at all.
Hero has K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the button, 10-handed, .10/.20 UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 players, 6SB) 5 checks, Hero... It seems like a no-brainer to bet here. I don't know how many will call, some of these tables are very timid. I don't know if someone will c/r, but I would be surprised if someone does. I guess the worst combo is if BB checkraises and the next four fold, but even that gives me 8:2 plus some implied odds. Does this thinking seem reasonable? |

[ QUOTE ]
bet-bet-bet-bet-bet [/ QUOTE ] Your flop bet will be for value as you have an equity edge. Your draw will come in about 31.5% of the time by the river and you are contributing about 16.7% of the bets put into the pot against 5 opponents that all call. Also, your flop bet might buy you a "free card" if you miss your draw on the turn, but are checked to by your opponents. Then you will have the opportunity to check behind at no further cost to see if you make your straight on the river. |

Playing checkers is such a good idea; so much better than playing poker.
Oh, and I bet here. |

Well, I prefer poker...and in checkers they don't call it "capping."
Yes, I bet. No, I wasn't check-raised. Yes, I took the free card. It was the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] |

King me! (That's kind of like "capping" your piece? Okay. I'm reaching now...)

[/ QUOTE ] It actually gives you either 9:1 (stop worrying about things that haven't happened yet) or 10:4 (what card could possibly come on the turn that you'd fold to after bet-calling the flop?). Beyond that, Xylocain's right. |
