Re: 400: JJ is Hard For Me
Don't like it. Your 4-bet size makes the hand very awkward going to the flop, especially with you OOP.
If you think he's squeezing a lot, I have no problem with pushing preflop. Otherwise, just call the reraise and go from there. |

Re: 400: JJ is Hard For Me
Would BTN be 3 betting PF and calling your limp/rr with anything besides KK,QQ? I guess he'd push AA over the top.
So I guess the main question is whether you can push him of these hands with your flop push on a dry board, or do you think there is also a chance he has like AK because I pretty much doubt that. |

Re: 400: JJ is Hard For Me
smooth call then 4bet is not getting much respect imo. I think you have to shove the flop given preflop, but I'd rather just call the 3bet.

What's you're plan for that sort of flop if you smooth call?

Re: 400: JJ is Hard For Me
yea i hate this preflop, it turns JJ into a bluff kind of, i think calling 40 then c/c flop is def best option.

Re: 400: JJ is Hard For Me
Thanks CDL.
I'm still having a bit of a hard time with the whole hand. The whole structure is very awkward for our hand and stack size. c/c leaves almost 1/2 your stack in the pot and less than a psb behind. It seems like checking to the villain on a blank turn pretty much announces you have TT,JJ. Seems like a really vulnerable position to leave yourself in. No? |

Re: 400: JJ is Hard For Me
i don't like the flop play. why are you shoving this flop? If you are shoving this flop OOP, you are only getting called by better hands. The only possible hand you might fold out would be QQ. was that your intention?
i would really prefer to c/r AI, since you aren't going to fold anyways. but if you put him squarely on overs and you think there is any possibility in him checking behind, then shoving here is OK, since there is more than enough money to warrant taking the pot without letting any additional As Ks fall. |

Re: 400: JJ is Hard For Me
I don't like preflop at all.
I would like a rr instead of the coldcall. But once you smoothcall the first time why put in a 4-bet? A lot of the value of you hand is in its hidden strength. In fact, if you want to nit it up you even have set odds here(calling $28 to win $70 pot and $370 implied). Why hose that up turning your hand into a bluff? |
