Villain has loose preflop calling standards and by most standards would be considered bad. What's a reasonable range given the way this hand was played out:

i am thinking villian had a K, although I could see A3/A5 if he is bad.

Part of hand reading is comparing what you think he has to what you actually have. I really hate these x,y posts.
[/my useless opinion] Villain has something strong but not nut strong, probably a king or a baby flush. I wouldn't discount a cold bluff here either. |

And I think these kind of posts are the best ones out there. They force you to consider what your opponent has, which is vital to good poker. |

Without better reads I'm probably calling TT+ here.
With better reads as to how (often) he bluffs you can greatly widen or narrow that range down. |

55-88 and A9. I guess I'd call with a 9 as well then, I'm just trying to lay out a decent hand range to call with here with what you've provided.
I see where you're getting at, and obviously I'd like to be able to narrow or widen my range from what I just said, but I don't think I can confidently with the information provided. |

Yeah. I think I come across as a pretentious jerk in these sometimes because it seems like I ask questions with a specific answer in mind. I'll try not to do that in the future.
With the information given, I still think you can make some conclusions about how he would play specific hands. I don't see how 55-88 and A9 are ever in his range after he leads on the river. Maybe A9, maybe. To me, this seems like a big hand or air. I don't think he's every leading into me as a thin value bet. Passive players don't do that. |

A lot of players in this level call down with medium to weak hands and then lead out semi weak on the river. The only thing that is different in this hand is that you're so shallow so the whole "3 streets, medium/weak hand" line is less likely in my mind.
