Games in Vegas year around?
Friend of mine said while he was out in WSOP over the summer he talked to some people that worked there and was told that outside of the WSOP, the games were usually really slow throughout the year. Can someone who lives in Vegas give their experience? He said moving to Vegas for poker isn't even a good idea and much better to move to LA. How are the games at 2/5, 5/10, and 10/20 level? Are they mostly filled with regs?

Vegas's pool seems to be a bit smaller because the average wage here is not as high as it is in NY, NJ, DC, Philli, or LA therefore you find more grinder regulars and less weekend/chronic gambler regulars. The games in LA are your best day-in-day-out choice even though the rake is higher and the games are capped because the pots tend to be larger and the players less observant/wilder. Vegas has a reputation for being the center of the poker universe. It might be true for information, but for games itself the center is LA. |
