3-bet for value + some FE
Opponent is Jimmy the Hat, who is pretty solid regular who has been reasonable active from late position.
Table has been very tight with respect to raises. In fact, I think I'm the only player who knows what a 3-bet is (honestly, this table was [censored]): Given my stack, does he do this with KJ/KQ/K10/connectors enough so my push can be done for value? does he ever fold here? Re: 3-bet for value + some FE
Well. In general this is an ok play, I would push here to a 360 bet.
I dont 3bet wide against someone that types in "4:20". First, I dont make plays on that particular bet size. I celebrate 4:20 myself on occasion, and have sometimes bet 420 against known stoners to signify to them that they should really think about things before calling this bet. Sure there can be some metagame involved, bluffing with a 420 bet etc... but in general, I think 420 bets are more often the goods than not. 4Card |

Re: 3-bet for value + some FE
Does he usually raise to 3.5x the bb?
Either way I would think if he's raising into your sb for that amount, with your stack he's ready to call a shove from you. |

Re: 3-bet for value + some FE
This is cute, 4card, however:
1. Smokers bet 420,3.5xBB, and actually do think about their hands. I have evidence in my HH. I also have the Lights, so, muahahahaha. 2. actually a serious question. |

Re: 3-bet for value + some FE
definitely wondering about the 3.5x bet size. If it was his common raise then shove away. If not common, then what does it signify? Probably a weakish pocket pair that he doesn want to play preflop, in which case your A9 may be in the race you are happy to see right now. Or if he just isn't comfortable preflop, I've seen people do this with PPs as high as KK. I'd say the answer to our question lies in the significance of the bet size. Remember enough about your vilian to get any read off of the 3.5x raise?

Re: 3-bet for value + some FE
You've rarely got fold equity here, so this is only good if you think you have decent equity counting whats in the pot vs his range.

Re: 3-bet for value + some FE

A9 is easily dominated... I wouldn't be pushing here

Re: 3-bet for value + some FE
no fold equity+solid reg = fold in my books, he might be raising with KQ-KJ, but the blinds arent big enough for him to be raising with worse hands than that, and most of his range has you beat/flipping.
