Re: Harrahs in Joliet Illinois
I don't think Harrah's Joliet has a poker room.
Hollywood Casino in Aurora has a poker room, but I've never been there so I don't know much about it. |

Re: Harrahs in Joliet Illinois
Hollywood is in Aurora. Harrah's in Joliet has no poker at all.
Hollywood from what I've read spreads 5/10 and 10/20 limit. |

Re: Harrahs in Joliet Illinois
Last I heard Empress does have a poker room, although its only 3-4 tables and they open or close it every few months. I hear rumprs about 2-5, 5-10 NL and 5-10,10-20 and 20-40 LHE but it isn't all of those games and I don't know which ones.
Hollywood in Aurora definately has a poker room. Its 5-10, 10-20 and sometimes 20-40, I think 20-40 runs during the week. |

Hollywood in Joliet since Harrahs has no poker room what does Hollywood spread anyone know? [/ QUOTE ] Hollywood is in Aurora. 6 tables - smokey, noisy, and filled with rude suburbanites. 5-10 and 10-20 with 1/2 kill when I was last there. Empress in Joliet (close to I-55) not the Harrahs downtown does have a poker "room" again. This is the third or fourth time they have opened and closed it. 3 tables right in the casino. 5-10, 10-20 and a NL game. Mostly locals. The Joliet boat closes their poker room at 6pm on Friday night and reopens it again at 6pm on Sunday night. Aurora at least "tries" to keep a table or two running during the peak hours, but they are sometimes told by the casino to NOT open another table - or even to close one that is running. Illinois law currently restricts each boat to 1200 "gaming positions". If you were the casino, who would be more valuable to you? ONE poker table running, or 10 slot machines? If you are in Aurora, a quick drive up to the Potti in downtown Milwaukee will get you a much better room and game selection. If you are in Joliet, just wait a few months for the Horseshoe in Hammond IN to open and its new poker room will blow away the competition in Joliet and also Gary and East Chicago. |

Re: Harrahs in Joliet Illinois
Potti is short for Pottawatomi in Milwaukee. For 20-40 I recommend Resorts because it goes every day. I vaguely recall that Pottawatomi gets 20-40 or 30-60, but I'm not sure and its not every day.

Re: Harrahs in Joliet Illinois
I heard that there is a casino in Gary Indiana that has a fairly good poker room, and that they even host HPT (Heartland Poker Tour) events there on a regular basis.

Re: Harrahs in Joliet Illinois
Resorts East Chicago will be running WPT satellite games. If there are any major WPT events run in the Chicago area my guess they will be run at Four Winds. For detailed information on Chicago area poker rooms go to www.cardclubs.net/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=165
