Ferguson's $10 000 challenge on FTP

Huge issue with his "Brag" in that he has earned $10 000 from starting with nothing. my question is, does he pay rake to the site? because playing $.5 - 1NL for just 1 month you could earn that (which he earned over $10 000 in about 5 weeks) no problem if you weren't being raked.. what a joke that promotion is.
