Obv preflop is not standard at all, but recently iven been experimenting with mixing up my preflop game with hands that could easily decieve bad players. The small stack here is super Lag, plays like 50/30 so were obv ahead of his range, but the guy who shoved plays like a 23/12 over 1200 hands. However this is the second tiem in the last few orbits that he has over shoved his entire stack facing a 3 bet, so Im starting to wonder if his stats are a little deceiving

I did feel it was a bluff, but that doesn't mean you can't fold. I would've thought he'd have AK given big stack, aggression, and history... so not far off.

[ QUOTE ]
I would never ever think of calling this. [/ QUOTE ] Plenty of high stakes players would have called it. Nobody else's gonna call, AK vs big stack, only a dog against AA, underdog vs KK, close to even vs all other pocket pairs. He's got big stack more likely to be slightly looser vs short stack so him holding AK AQ even AJ very possible, so why not? As it turned out he did have AQ very close to my read. High stakes tables given same relative stack sizes short vs big, at least 20-30% of the time short stack calls with AK. |
