10/20 deep, lay down second set?
10/20 typical tight/tough table, I raised pf with 7s7c to 60 with 2 limpers in the cut off seat, solid Pro on the button rr to 260 limpers out and I called. I got 9k he had about 4k.
Flop Ah 7h 4c I checked Villian bet 300 I called. Turn Kh I led out 500 and he raised to 1500 I called. River 2s I checked and he moved all in with 1700. Would you lay it down or pot commited with about 2.5-1 pot odd? Was I trapping at the wrong time with second set? What would you have played this hand differently? |

you flop a set on an A high board with a flush draw. is there not a better oppourtunity to raise?

Re: 10/20 deep, lay down second set?
1. weird bet sizes
2. fastplay flop pls. 3. villain shows up w/either AK or flush imo and u have to call but it's like "fk why didnt board pair ima donk" call edit - ps. also you said villain is good pro but is he lag or at least looser preflop and aggressive? pretty important in terms of determining if he could show up with a flush, AAA, or 2p |

Re: 10/20 deep, lay down second set?
pologuy64,
Thanks for the input. I didn't want to lose him if he held Tens, JJ, QQ, KK on the flop and he was about 23-1 shot hit a set. I meant second set on the flop after that it became bottom set and I doubted he hit set of Kings on the turn but it's possible. |

Re: 10/20 deep, lay down second set?
lol, lose him? bro, you're not gonna get much value from the hands you said anyway, you wanna play this hand as if villain has AK, it's the only way you're getting paid here

Re: 10/20 deep, lay down second set?
check/call on the flop sucks. Doesnt put enough pressure on him. Just check/raise. Even a check/minraise works..
As played, push turn after he raises you.. |

Re: 10/20 deep, lay down second set?
I raise the flop here every time. There's almost no value from any hand that isn't an A or a flush draw anyway, so there's no point in trying to string along a hand like QQ or JJ.
