taking a shot on a juicy table - big multiway pot
UTG appears to be kind of a nit 25/15/2 over 70 hands. his open limp is very likely a speculative hand. he's done it before but never got to sd
CO is why I'm at the table. 75/10/1 over 150 hands. calling station, super light peels, easy to induce bluffs from SB is shaping up to be a standard LP BB is a good reg LAGTAG player Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $10/$20 5 players Converter Pre-flop: (5 players) yourface is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG calls, CO calls, yourface raises, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, CO calls. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (10SB, 5 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, CO checks, yourface bets, SB calls, BB calls, UTG raises, CO calls, yourface calls, SB calls, BB calls. Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (10BB, 5 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, CO calls, yourface calls, 2 folds. But if u dont think UTG will call hoping for a split, calling is better, avoiding 3bet when behind, getting more when u split with bad player and getting same when u are ahead of both. By the way, if I was raising this river, I would often wait 5-6 sec. pretending I was thinking, before doing it. |

Re: taking a shot on a juicy table - big multiway pot
I dont see how people like just calling the river....CO is obviously calling a raise but if UTG is as nitty as OP says he finds a fold here sometimes I think....and there IS the off chance that he calls two here hoping that your trying to get him off a three way chop.

[/ QUOTE ] A nitty UTG will virtually never call 2 playing the board. That being said, I think the river is close, but I call. The flop decision is more important than the river decision, and I think it's a clear 3bet. |

Re: taking a shot on a juicy table - big multiway pot
just ram and jam? the pot was big enough that I thought it would be better to raise a safe turn card and shut out SB and BB to protect my hand from the multitude of draws. the 9 was obv not a safe turn card though
