why books and advices suck
the best players i know aren't the big winners, but rather the ones that have lost a lot in the past and have learned a lot. The winners aren't incredibly adaquate in skills, but have better dicipline and money management. i always see books saying how the author won this and this amount and how u can do it too. but the ultimate book would be some1 like matusow saying how he lost $xxx, xxx, xxx amounts of money and thats what would really make a player better.

Re: why books and advices suck
perhaps you're reading the wrong books?
Personally I don't remember ever seeing any such advertisement for any 2+2 book, and I've read quite a few. Do the Harrington ones say anything like this? I can't remember. By the way, your idea that losers are better players is completely ridiculous. You really need to read some real books. And do some real thinking, too. |

perhaps you're reading the wrong books? [/ QUOTE ] haha, thats funny. And if matasow wrote a book, im not sure it would sell very well. the man is an amazing poker player, but wouldnt have anything new to write about other then what its like to be one of the best in the world at something with an almost unlimited amount of earning potential, and still be broke. Amazes me ever time i think about it. |

Yeah he's won the most tournament money due to his WSOP win, but the best poker players in the world have easily won more than the 6-7 million dollar cut (out of the 12 million prize) that Gold got. Everyone knows the most money made is actually in the high roller cash games. Not sure who it is, but it sure ain't Jamie Gold with his 7 million dollars. |
