Transferring Roth IRA at ING to Vanguard
For whatever dumb thoughtless reason, I opened up a Roth IRA at ING (in a fund I now dislike b/c exp. ratio is too high)and want to transfer those funds over to a Vanguard account (want to just stick the money in a target retirement account)?
Is this possible or is that money stuck with ING? Are there any tax penalties associated with this sort of transfer? |

Re: Transferring Roth IRA at ING to Vanguard
You can do a rollover I think? I'm not sure of the technical name. I have been in the process of transferring from Fidelity to American Funds, but I'm in the process of nuking that.

Re: Transferring Roth IRA at ING to Vanguard
Unless you are in a back-loaded mutual fund with ING, it will cost you nothing to transfer these funds to Vanguard.
There are no tax implications in doing this transfer. |

there could be a small fee to transfer the account out, but not tax penalties

Re: Transferring Roth IRA at ING to Vanguard
This is very possible. ING may charge you a small fee, however.
Typically, you just have to fill out transfer forms for the receiving company (Vanguard, in your case), and they will do the rest for you. |
