Chinese Poker Help.
I have recently started playing Chinese Poker and some of its variants but am ignorant of alot of its rules.
If anyone could help me with these few questions that would be great. -is a scoop is when player 1 wins the top middle and bottom from all 3 players, so they all pay you 3+3, or is it individually as in Player 1 beats player 2 and 3 but not 4 for all 3 so player 2 and 3 pay you 3+3? -If you surrender do you pay all players still in play 3? -A natural is defined as having "Three Straights, Three Flushes, Six Pairs, or 13 Unique cards(a 13 card straight)" so how do you get 3 straights or flushes, is it 4 of 3 suits? or 4 of 3 runs? -In 2-7 Chinese we've been playing are bonuses as quads on the bottom is +1 straight flush is +2 and Trip aces up top is +1, are these common bonuses and if you have the nuts in the middle (2-7) do you typically pay +1? -is there a free chinese poker hand calculator on the internet? -what is a good website to find C.poker strategys and information? thanks for your help! |

[/ QUOTE ] A scoop is against an individual opponent and gets paid what ever is agreed upon at the beginning of the game. [ QUOTE ] -If you surrender do you pay all players still in play 3? [/ QUOTE ] Normally a surrender only pays those left in the hand. How much he pays varies greatly from game to game. [ QUOTE ] -A natural is defined as having "Three Straights, Three Flushes, Six Pairs, or 13 Unique cards(a 13 card straight)" so how do you get 3 straights or flushes, is it 4 of 3 suits? or 4 of 3 runs? [/ QUOTE ] I'm not sure what you are asking here. [ QUOTE ] -In 2-7 Chinese we've been playing are bonuses as quads on the bottom is +1 straight flush is +2 and Trip aces up top is +1, are these common bonuses and if you have the nuts in the middle (2-7) do you typically pay +1? [/ QUOTE ] Those are fairly common bonuses, but I have never seen a bonus for the wheel in the middle in CP2-7. It's too common. [ QUOTE ] -is there a free chinese poker hand calculator on the internet? [/ QUOTE ] Not that I know of. The one at Don Smolen's site bellow is worth buying. [ QUOTE ] -what is a good website to find C.poker strategys and information? [/ QUOTE ] The man who wrote the book is Don Smolen. Check out his site here. There have been some excellent threads on CP on this forum. Read the archives or post some question here. |

Re: Chinese Poker Help.
Thanks for your help man, that covers everything except for the naturals, which i need to clarify, i was told to have a natural you need to have 6 pairs, a 13 card straight, or 3 flushes/straights; My question was, what is an example of a hand with a natural that has 3 straights or 3 flushes, how does that work with 13 cards?

Re: Chinese Poker Help.
Gotcha. They have to be 5-5-3.

Re: Chinese Poker Help.
#%$£!
u nicked my nick I'm kidding. It's ok. After some reflection, I think your nick is better than mine. I've got another nick that I intended for WoW, but I think I might use it for poker instead. I prefer the CP variant from pokerroom. -2 points for surrendering makes it worthwhile occasionally. Almost like folding in ordinary poker. I've never really tried the other variants, though... good luck |
