Online 4/8 spot questions for all streets
Sorry my memory of this hand is a little sketchy but i will try and regurgitate it as best as i can. My image is a LAGy one and villain in this hand is in CO and sat down only a few circuits ago( 6 seater table) and has worked his way up to just over 1000$ and hasnt shown down a hand yet but i saw him playing 2/4 3/6nl normally so he is playing tighter than normal as he has moved up stakes and i barely cover.
Im on the button with Ah9h and all 3 players limp to me so there is 36$ in pot so i raise up to 42$. what do u think about that? too much? should i have just ilmped? then everyone bar the SB call so there is 214$ in the pot preflop. Flop As 9c 2d it is checked round to me and i bet 175$ ish how do you like this also with this hand? only villain in CO calls Pot 560$ish turn comes a Qh completing a raindow board. CO checks again and i fire out just over 320$. the villain thinks for around 15 secs and pushes all in for 800$ish so 480$ more. what is your decision here and should i have checked turn? What do you think Villain could have here? Could he be bluffing here? Can you fold here leaving with around half stack in pot? All replies and thoughts appreciated |

hi jkkkk, thx for reply. Just wondering if you could delve further as i admit i am not that great a player and still need to learn to improve. I had postition on button and everyone was limping should i have just limped also there?

Re: Online 4/8 spot questions for all streets
I think the preflop raise is ok to hopefully take it down there or isolate against one, but calling is fine too. The flop bet is good, but given the description of the Villain, I think I check the turn to control the size of the pot a little. At that point you're either behind or he's drawing to very few outs. On the river I call reasonable bet and bet if checked to.

Re: Online 4/8 spot questions for all streets
i feel like he has 22 a lot here. i think checking the turn is okay if u think he will fold most ax hands to a bet, or if he is peeling with 9x on the flop. i would of course call the shove. i also think pf is perfectly fine.

Re: Online 4/8 spot questions for all streets
I would usually limp there as I don't like to bloat the pot with what will be a very good drawing hand a lot of the time, raising isn't awful, but it can put you in tricky situations when you hit top pair and face resistance against some unknown.
As played you have hit your miracle hand and have a great image, so I think playing it passively would be terrible, I would take the same line you did and insta-call the turn. |

No draw on the flop and a big checkraise in turn from a tigth player who is doing well in the higher game, what are the range of his hand?

Re: Online 4/8 spot questions for all streets
Thats where i struggled. I couldnt put him on a worse hand unless he was trying me on with draw, incredibly unlikely as no draw on flop, or had a hand like Q9 suited and was taking a gamble with his hand preflop as he was getting great odds on his call preflop as he was 1 to my right and then called flop as he was last person to act after my flop bet. Would anyone here consider folding with this much commited or is it simply call now

Re: Online 4/8 spot questions for all streets
well thx for replies all, as for the result i did call the all in after submitting myself to being behind. River comes another 2, so you can guess now, just to rub it in and he shows 22 for the quads :-(
