$55 - Call turn with gutshot and second pair?
Villian raised 5bb from UTG+1 with A8s at L2. He also pushed about 40 bb after a min raise and a call at the same level. He is probably both loose and aggressive?

Re: $55 - Call turn with gutshot and second pair?
I'd raise to t250 PF rather than open limping.
As played, I'd fold flop, you're not getting the odds to chase a gutshot here. Problem with calling turn is that you're likely going to have to call a larger river bet too, and for that reason I guess I'd fold. I dunno how often he as an Ace here cos you'd figure he'd raise PF, but then again maybe he doesn't. I don't wanna risk my healthy stack to find out. |

I don't like limping PF, although it probably can't be that bad.
Fold flop, fold turn. |

Re: $55 - Call turn with gutshot and second pair?
Limping pf is certainly acceptable. There have been threads about open B limping & this is a good spot to do it. I've used it with success. I'd raise pf if it was sooted.
Fold the flop for the above reasons. |

Re: $55 - Call turn with gutshot and second pair?
Preflop: I never fold sometimes I limp sometimes I raise.
Flop I pretty much always peel here. Turn is really close. As min bet and than pot is generally a pretty big hand I would fold. I think he has KT or JQ a lot here. |

Re: $55 - Call turn with gutshot and second pair?
grunch... I'm sure others will have already said similar
Preflop: I've never had much success open-limping the button. I'd raise to 255-275 pretty much all the time. Maybe good players can open-limp this. I can't. Flop: Calling here is beyond retarded against the type of opponent you describe. You could raise if you thing BB could be leading weak, but that would be the last chips you'd put in the pot without hitting your gutshot. Folding would be OK because you can only beat a spurious bluff, and your hand is nearly impossible to improve if you are behind. Turn: Seriously, fold already. You have some folding equity against a weak ace or a ten if you push, but that's fairly suicidal. It would have been much nicer to not get yourself into these spots in the first place. |
