[/ QUOTE ] Both of these Johnny Cash songs, seem to be in Johnny's humor mode. But, when I personally think of storytelling country songwriters, I think of Marty Robbins. He's an old cowboy from around the SW. He passed away quite a few years ago though. Mostly stories about old cowboys and such. don't really think there is too much humour in his songwriting. The Kris K.recommendation, also seemed to fit the vein you were looking for, Convoy, comes to mind. -1 |

Re: Music help
"A Boy Named Sue" was written by the great Shel Silverstein. Shel wrote the lyrics to quite a few songs recorded by Bobby Bare.
He was also an artist, poet and author of children's books. His greatest accomplishment was being one of Hugh Hefner's closest friends and reaping the many benefits of said friendship. |
