Default Best Online Steak Company?

My dads birthday is right around christmas, and i got him a round at the half moon bay ocean course for christmas, and this was all he said he wanted. Ive been thinking for his birthday i will order him some steaks. He loves to grill and whatnot. I know omaha steaks is the most talked about, but a quick google search turned up plenty of these types of companies. anyone have any experience ordering from these places/have a favorite? also, what would be the best if he likes to grill them? i know he loves tri tip and larger meats like that. any help would be very nice.

RJ,

I'm sure there are others that are very good, but Dean & Deluca is one that is definitely better (and pricier) than Omaha Steaks. Salt Lick isn't steak, but some brisket from there is incredible and any meat-lover will love it. Ribs from there are really good too.

I have ordered from both of those places. I haven't ordered from Peter Luger, but those are great steaks.

Lobel's is supposedly incredible and better than all of these. I haven't ordered from there either.

haha, i heard Lobel's was the best, but i think i heard it on this forum!

must have been from diablo. i've searched their site quite a bit at different times, and their stuff is really expensive, but they seem to know what they're talking about. cool picture of where the cuts come from.

I got my parents a steak of the month subscription from Hickory Farms last year for xmas. They said they were really good. I ate one of the lobster tails that came with the last package today and it was quite tasty.

Overpriced for stuff you can get at the market. And at the market, it'll be fresh.

Sometimes a sale comes by that is a good deal. But most of their "sales" are still overpriced.

i looked through all the suggestions and ended up getting 4 never frozen boneless ribeyes from allenbrothers. many of the other suggestions were rad, but i really like the fresh idea, the price was solid and i/he likes ribeyes a good bit more than most stuff. lugers was v tempting though. i almost went with the niiman ranch combo pack, which was 2 filets, 2 ribeyes and 2 strips. but the fresh thing sounds really cool. thanks doodz.
