Qualified for Paradise Million$Freeroll: Advice?
I qualified last night for Paradise's Million$Freeroll which will play on July 22nd. My no-limit skills are mediocre at best. I've played limit almost exclusively since starting playing poker 6 months ago. 20k limit hands played. 1k no-limit tournament hands played. In 10 tournaments total my average finish has been top 20%.
I have no illusions when it comes to this $1M tournament but I'd like to challenge myself by at least finishing ITM (500th position out of 5000). That's a top 10% finish which I've only done in 3 tournaments out 10. I'd like to build a solid foundation for no-limit tournament play. As a limit cash game player no-limit tournaments are a strange beast to me. I've ordered HOH vols. I and II which I hope can be a start. What I could use though is some advice on how I can use the next 90 days to become a much better no-limit tournament player. Think of it as a 90 day challenge to take me from being so inexperienced that I play Sklanksky's Tournament System to where I actually understand no-limit pre AND postflop tournament play! Thoughts on how I should proceed? Thanks! |
