Party holding Focus Groups in Minneapolis
It sounds like they'll be interviewing small groups about the entire party package, meaning poker, blackjack, bingo and whatever else they've rolled out in the last few months. I have plenty to say already, but if anyone else has some strong opinions or interesting thoughts, I'd be happy to pass them on. It's pretty last minute at this point - I'll be leaving in an hour and a half.

Tell them they need more fish. Everything else should be done to achieve that end.

10% juice on HU matches is just ridiculous.

Their stance on rakeback will be their undoing. Adapt or die.

Re: Party holding Focus Groups in Minneapolis
trip report: There were about 7 of us there, 3 of us were 2+2ers, while the others ranged from novice to pretty much complete fish. We repeatedly hammered on the importance of a large player base, good customer support, and good bonuses/RB. The person running it didn't seem to fully understand the poker universe of course, but he had a pretty good grip on things. It was moderately interesting to hear from the two people who played primarily for fun, and only thought of the money as a secondary consideration.
Of specific note: They had us try to personify different sites, Stars was a polite english butler, while Party was the abusive husband. "Party is rigged!" was brought up not once, but twice. Some of the others implied the use of pokertracker and pokerace HUD should be considered cheating. I think there was some surprise in the room when it was mentioned that there are players out there who play multiple tables at once... good times. |
