Default NL time charge

I will be going to Vegas soon and plan on playing 1/2 NLH. I never played no limit in a casino. Do most poker rooms in Vegas just take out rake from their NL games or is there a time charge? I'm not even totally sure how a time charge works. They charge each player every half hour or hour, right? Something like $5 every half hour (which sounds like a lot to a conservative player like me). Whcih rooms just take out rake? I think I would prefer to play there, unless I am just overestimating the impact a time charge would have on my stack.

Almost all low stakes NL in Vegas is rake, normally in the form of 10% up to 4$.

Time charges are only for the higher stakes games. You'll just pay the 10% up to $4 rake when you play $1/2NL.
