$11 Party - How to stop pushing?
I have been getting way too many 3rd places lately. I felt I played this SNG awesome up until this last hand. I originally wanted to push, then was about to call, then decided to go with my 1st instinct and push. This was a terrible F* play on my part!!! I assumed since he didn't bet on the flop that he missed it. Any advice on how to think through or play these situations in the future?
Thanks! Re: $11 Party - How to stop pushing?
Push all-in preflop. Your post-flop play was terrible.
BTW, if anyone says you're pushing too much in pre-flop, this is an unexploitable (+EV no matter what they're call range is) push. |

I am still hating myself for it...all my good work ruined by one stupid play

Re: $11 Party - How to stop pushing?
It's too early to push all-in preflop. This was just one of those he was destined to lose. I would have continuation bet the flop.

Re: $11 Party - How to stop pushing?
I agree. I don't push this pre-flop either.
I also make the conitiuation bet, and fold it he check raises all in. I probably raise his turn bet and lose all my chips as well, if I had checked through the flop. |

Re: $11 Party - How to stop pushing?
15 x blind is too early to push preflop in my opinion. Here I usually weigh my options. Call and try to see cheap river or risk everything I have on middle pair. I usually try the conservative route.

Re: $11 Party - How to stop pushing?
SNGPT will tell you that since you have more than 10x the BB, you have better options than pushing.
Do you have SNGPT? |

Re: $11 Party - How to stop pushing?
I recently got SNGPT and just checked the hand in it.
Still trying to figure the tool out. Is it mainly for determining EV for your hand in a push situation? |

Re: $11 Party - How to stop pushing?
I think he's referring to the supplemental materials on HU nash equilibrium. Personally I love a push here, especially at the 11s, and especially if I've been "pushing too much". Eventually, one of those donks will get tired of it and call you with their pretty QJs.
