if you were me, what limit would you play?
so, i've been a pro now for the past 10 months or so. i am going back to my teaching job in september. i have been relatively conservative with my bankroll for fear of BUSTO, but now that i will have a steady paycheck coming in a few months, i likely can be a little less anal. if i put away 3 months worth of living expenses, I have a bankroll of 21K. if you were me, what limits would you play live and online?

[/ QUOTE ] well, i don't play those limits, so i don't know. i'm sure i'm a winner in the canterbury 30 games and likely most other live 30's. that said, i know some great players who have dropped over 250BB in the canterbury 30. variance doesn't care if you're a winner in the game.

I do not believe bankroll is the most important aspect of which limits you should play. Like Alobar says, play the level that maximizes your winnings. If you can make 2.4BB/hr playing 10/20 but only 1BB/hr playing 20/40 then you should play 10/20. If your hourly rate is the same for 10/20 and 20/40, of course you should play 10/20 to minimize your variance. As far as the maximum limit I would play based on your bankroll, I think 20/40 is the max I would play. That is over 500BB, and I think that is about a good cushion.
