Just wanted to share my epiphany...
So, I'm a good-for-nothin micro player... But I'm pretty good at $3.40 STTs. A given STT day might go like this:
Ranks while multitabling four STTs: 9 10 3 5 Second round ranks: 1 1 3 1 Third round ranks: 8 9 5 8 Now I know this is not variance because during the second round, I feel my tables and know the right decisions to make. But what explains the first and third rounds? I figured it out last night. Basically, during the first four tables I'm warming up; I've been playing poker for only ~5 months so I still require warm-up time. But during the second round, I am warmed-up and focused, right? And playing well; playing TAG early in the STT and LAG when it's shorthanded. However - and here is the eiphany - the reason I play terrible in the third round of multitabling is because I am still stuck in LAG mode and raising crap like A8o 3xBB from early position... As soon as I had this epiphany last night, I multitabled a few more rounds and.... did really well. Thanks for reading. Maybe another noob can learn from my experience. |
