Default randomizing your play

Ok so there is another reg at my table who seems quite good,
just for some background this hand happens a little while ago.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button ($6.35)
Hero ($29.40)
BB ($70.45)
UTG ($17.30)
MP ($72.15)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.1</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $3.75</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $11.1</font>, BB folds.

Final Pot: $7.50

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
No showdown. Hero wins $7.50. </font>

now my main concern against playing this guy is that it seems to me "normal" play is not going to be very effective against him because he is a good TAG, which brings me to the subject of randomizing my play. My idea is that by overbetting the flop out of postion verse this player

1) i may make him fold the best hand
2)i introduce metagame factors (i.e. i must be tilted to play like that)

so what do u think of this play?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

UTG ($25.65)
Hero ($26.90)

<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero calls $0.25, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $1.25</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, Hero calls $1.

Flop: ($2.85) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $3.7</font>, CO calls $3.70.

I'm not a good player or anything but couldn't you pick a better hand given your position to go to war with this good player?

i almost feel like playing my normal game vs him is not going to be profitable, i.e . set mining etc. that s why i'm interested in some fancy plays.

This looks terrible everywhere. Pf is bad, but you already know that. I dont like the donk, but if youre going to do it, I dont know why you would bet over the pot. Then you hit your card and you check? At least bet the river I guess, but this hand is just bad. This isnt tricky, its a spew fest.

i think river is a call , the bet is too small to fold with a QUEEN kicker.
But let me tell you something , if you want te create metagame and all this [censored] , you better just bet the turn. You are way more dangerous like this. But im not very sure of what your trying to accomplish

I think it is okay. I think when u checked turn he thinks you are trapping and his river bet pretty much says, "I can't win by checking". or he happened to have trapped you.

If I was going to pull the overbet i would do so on a non-paired board since most good TAGs know that most ppl don't have crap on paired board. it is possible that he has a queen or a pocket pair and the ace scared him but he thinks on river you don't have much and any size bet could make you fold so he goes for what he feels is the smallest bet to make you fold.

I will have to say from this past month that learning how to make new plays will lead to some pretty huge spew but the only way to learn is to get your hands dirty, make some mistakes and learn from them.

This makes no sense. He thinks he is being trapped and he bets? I mean obviously call this river bet but this is butchered.

I think the check on the river is fine and is actually a good play. You're simply inducing a bluff from this player, thats all. When you called you should have noted what he had and if he did have nothing or small PP it gives you options and lets you knonw that later on in different hands floating/inducing bets from this player will be effective. Thats one way to get tricky, he won't know if your checks are weak/strong. You'll have to be careful though, if he is good like you say he should be able to adapt to this pretty quickly.

i understand why this looks spewy, but i guess i think the most interesting part of poker is when your not just value betting verses a fish. i'm interested in what sort of changes one makes verse a good TAG
