Default 3/6 PLO - Block-bet river with Aces?

3/6 PLO HU

Villain - $900
Hero $769

Villain peels lots of marginal draws, doesn't fold draws on the turn getting incorrect odds, and has not pulled off any noticeable bluffs on me. River is a pretty bad non-flush/board-pair card as JT gets there and KQxx certainly is reasonable as well. Should I have bet river, or is this ever a check/call or straight check/fold?

Villain limps, Hero raises to $18 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Villain calls.

Flop Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Hero bets $26, Villain calls.

Turn 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Hero bets $60, Villain calls.

River K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Hero checks, Villain tanks and bets $120..

Based on your read that he peels with bad odds and doesnt bluff then isnt this a check-fold? If I am against a competent opponent I would lean more towards a check call since diamonds and and the low straight both missed.

I think as a standard play check/folding is pretty bad after you bet the turn and then the river semi-blanks here.

I don't like the 1/2 pot bet on the flop. There are a lot of weak draws on this board that can't call a PSB, but will peel if you let them do it cheaply.

As played, I think check/call's perfect on the river. An unlikely draw came which will make villain hesitant to bet a weakish made hand that has you beat, but when villain has a missed draw (which will be often on this board), you give him a good chance to take a shot at you.

If you had KQ or a set, then I might like a blocking bet, but I don't like it at all in this situation.

You can only beat a bluff.
If he puts you on AAxx or diamond draw he could be betting Kings up here.

I probably check fold against a weak player who just plays his own cards. I don't really like your bet sizing.

Bet-sizing is definitely weak, I am not sure what you have represented in this hand, and I would expect to see a lot of bluffs from opponents on the river when you take this line. As played I think this spot is totally read dependent, thus it is going to be hard help you out, since if you trust your read the play is obvious.
