Big bluff very deep NL$25

Villain is 25/17 or so after 100 hands. mongooseFTp if anyone knows him.

I am more concerned with whether or not this is an actual good spot to bluff in general than being good or bad at NL$25. I was playing NL$50 before I had to stop playing for a month and am trying to improve so I can be beating small stakes soon.

Spew. Give up on the turn. I think he calls this all day with a pair of queens. His river bet looks like a value bet.

lol damn dude ure kinda spewy... what do u think he is taking this line with that he is willing to b/f the river? his river bet looks like a please call rather than please fold type of bet...after c/c 2x and then lead for 1/2 he either his like jt or at the very least an 8...i dont see people taking lines like this with the q too often....so in this spot, i do not think a bluff is +ev. i suck though, and this is just my humble opinion.... did he end up calling?

Really? I think his bet looks more like a blocking bet. In my experience 25 NLers call when their blocking bets get raised anyways, and I feel like this is a particularly bad place to bluff. He hasn't gone anywhere to two near PSBs and your line only makes sense with something as big as QQ. Asking for that much credit is a very bad idea.

By the way, you gave away results by putting in the final pot amount.

Normally a blocking bet will come from someone that has been the aggressor. This guy is betting into someone who obviously likes his hand. If he wanted to see river cheap, he would have check/called.

I think this is good given villain. Turn is standard, and river looks like a pretty obvious block. Unfortunately, some TAGs never actually block for real, and will only fake block, especially against other regs (I do this).

But I think it's fair to say that a guy like this will show up with a hand like QJs and fold it on the river more often than not.

Personally, I would prefer to see him go to showdown with this line before I invested a stack on a bluff.

I would also raise to $18, instead. I'm sure he's aware of what his bet will look like, and a huge raise looks more suspect than smaller one in this spot.

Very few people fold a decent hand there against an aggressive opponent. You've polarized your range into monsters and air, and there aren't many possible monsters on that board.

Also, very few people would fake block QJ in this spot. If they're blocking, they're planning to fold. If they're planning to call, they're checking and calling.

I rarely ever see people folding after making blocking-type looking bets at 25 NL. This type of play may be profitable at higher limits, but people usually end up calling with their marginal hands anyways.

Anyways, I also raise that up with AQ/KK/AA, but I don't pot it: A pot there looks a lot like air. (Which, as a side note, leads me to think I maybe should do that with those hands occasionally)
