Default Help Plz.....I cant beat the fish!

So I was checking out PT in an inquiry to a question and came up with something quite interesting.

Basically, my the top losers to me are the "solid" regulars....while the top winners to me are the people I always thought of as fish. Obviously this isnt true for everyone but if I filter for >1k hands and search for the 55 names that come up, only a few are up decently on me. A few more have broken even, im up a bit one some, and up very nicely on more than a few. Its def skewed in that direction.

The only thing Im coming up with at the moment is that since I consider them fish/weak I try to hard to bully them, dont give them enough respect, or call down to much...

Anyone have any thoughts on this or how to combat it(other than the ovbious of playing tighter against them)?

Thanks,
Evan

it is extremely short when you consider # of hands you have against each player.

even taken collectively, you probably only have 50k hands against fish and 50k hands against good players. both samples mean very little.

Do you realise how slow results converge? 110k is perhaps enough to put your TOTAL winrate within 1BB/100 with 95% confidence (I havent done the calcs but its about there I think).

I think your style of play has alot to do with this. Going into to much detail might not be in your best interest but I would just suggest not getting too tricky against the players you describe.

I think this is normal. Fish are higher variance than TAGs. The reason fish arent at the top of your won from list is that if you run well v them they often busto. The TAGs are properly rolled and hence come back for more.

Hmmm, You all make good points.

Didnt think about how small a number of hands against each player that translates into.

Thanks

if you really wanna do this right you gotta find a way to filter so you can calculate WR against all fish vs. WR against all tags. Doubtful sample size is too small for that one to come out wrong.
