villain is basically unknown. we've been playing HU for about 15 hands and he seems relatively normal. he 3bet me once and i folded. i've been on the quiet side but nothing remarkable at all.

Flop: ($150) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players)
SB checks, BB bets $70, 2 folds, Hero calls $70, SB folds

Turn: ($290) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $220, BB calls $220

River: ($730) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB bets $1,498 and is All-In, hero?

i have 1189 left.

villain is 18/9.5 in 275 hands. i haven't really noticed him much to this point.

edit to include 2nd hand.

Hand #1: Fold.

Hand #2: Call really fast. He doesn't have 67(unless it's 6d7d) and if he has hearts it has to be something stupid like.. AhTh. My bet is that he missed diamonds and is overbetting the pot to force you off a hand like AT-AK.

3-betting to $175 is a really really big 3-bet. If this is an unknown this screams monster to me. i'd prefer to fold this and wait to see if this is his standard 3-bet amount and with what range he is doing it.

are you serious? please tell me how aside from a hand like AhTh/AhJh/6d7d villain has us beat. villain leads into 4 people on the flop of Ad4h3d. Here he either has:

A. A set
B. A flush draw (or flush draw + straight draw)
C. Aces up
D. A pair of aces
E. A straight (most unlikely me thinks)

Now turn comes 5h

He checks, and we bet 220. He calls.

I really don't think he c/c with a set/straight/aces up. So he either has an a pair of aces or a flush draw.

River, he overbets pot.

Why?!

Well the way we played our hand it looks like we either have a vulnerable hand (seriously the times we have A2 here is like really low as opposed to other hands). So he bets us all in to push us off. I don't think he'd bet all-in with AThh/AJhh because he would want to get paid off (although I don't know history and how thin OP makes calls so if he can make a call like this with AQ/AK then I guess it's for value as well, but I really doubt it).

So honestly, he either has 6d7d/AThh/AJhh or nothing. I really think we have the winning hand here and I don't see it as burning money.
