Re: I botch another 3bet pot
I think pushing preflop seems spewy as you will only get called by hands that have you dominated. I think the flop is standard as played as you'll be committed on the turn with the buttons stack size.

Re: I botch another 3bet pot
I don't really consider this a 3b pot.
The pot size is already relatively large and I don't mind taking it down versus the shorty. Button just called, shorty pushed, you called and then he called. The side pot is empty and he bets into it. You are either pretty far ahead (maybe against KQ or something) and get a fold or you are getting snap called. Button has over 1/2 his stack in the middle and there is very little chance he folds. Pushing now might look like an iso raise and get called lighter. Think the hand is fine. |

Re: I botch another 3bet pot
Btn is getting about 3.3:1.
He's not folding AQ/AK after he bets $8 (at least he shouldn't). He only needs about 23% equity. Even if you or shorty has TP, he's in decent shape. Re: I botch another 3bet pot
Push PF is probably a little spewy. I definitely push pf with AK in this spot, i'm a little iffy on AQ only because of button behind me (still would strongly consider it), but not AJ. That makes 32 combos of Ax that beat you, which is a decent portion of btns calling range behind you.
I think the hand is played A-Ok. Don't really think you can fold to such a small raise by shorty, but raising on top doesn't make too much sense here either. If BTN is capable of squeezing PF that puts you in a [censored] position, but meh, you didn't mention that he is capable of that. Once we get to the flop, you basically can't fold here. A c/r is good, I think, because it milks some money out of 77-99 type hands, and might get barrel out of a whiffed AK or AQ. And we are pretty much going broke on this flop against a halfstack 100 percent of the time, methinks. A lead just folds out many of the hands that may give us a bluff, and OBVIOUSLY does not fold out any hands that are ahead of us. Conclusion: Goot, don't really see why this is botched. |
