omg here we go, pull the trigger take cover fire again and we`re done dont forget to clean the mess [/ QUOTE ] Unless vil limps a ton of offsuit 8x hands, getting it in on the turn is suicide. I.E.: you're done against: 87hh T8cc 88 3 77 combos 3 TT combos 4 J9 combos And the 3 hands you're ahead of have good equity: 98hh 86hh A8cc A8hh He'll have Tx a lot going for a showdown raise obviously, but that doesn't mean you should auto-ship the money into the center of the table... Its actually a super annoying spot. You want to: - get additional value from Tx on turn and river. You accomplish this by either 3betting small on turn and betting river medium, or calling the turn and leading the river. The first line is bad because if you 3bet the turn and he shoves, you have to fold given the ranges above. If you call turn and lead river small, he'll often shove trips over your river bet putting YOU on Tx, but you'll again not be ahead enuf agasint his range to call the shove. - get additional value from trips on turn and river. You can 3bet or shove the turn if u want, hes not folding trips, but we already established that getting it in on the turn is bad against his range. Given all that, and the fact that you're quite possibly already beaten. I'd call the turn and check/call the river against this opponent. He'll bet trips big on the river anyway, so you don't lose a ton of value vs 3betting turn small and betting riv medium. You DO lose val versus Tx, which will definitely check the river behind. But that is the lesser of two evils. Not getting more val from Tx is a whatever outcome. Folding the hand anywhere to trips is a terrible outcome. Make sure you don't make the big mistake. |

Re: Str8 on paired board
the above post covers it all, although admittedly he will have hands like J8hh or T9s more then you think.
