Top two on 3 flush flop
villain is 75/7/1, and even though I'm new I felt the button was a standard 15/8/1.5 weak player that seem to be most of the players in 200 NL
I strongly felt I was beat on turn, but called down because of small betting. I also felt folding PF was too weak, but reraising was too much. Also, keeping the BB in the hand good. Re: Top two on 3 flush flop
I would either 3 bet or fold PF. I dont want to play a hand like KQo OOP, especially to a tighter player. Even with a loose BB I dont think it helps you out a lot on a top pair hand like this, id rather have a suited connector type hand in that situation.
From the turn on this is a tough spot. His minraise is pretty scary cuz its not the best spot to bluff in given he doesnt know anything about your hand, but its hard to fold given such small bets. Would be easier to play with a better read on what kind of 75/7 suck player he is. |

Re: Top two on 3 flush flop
I'm not sure why you didn't bet the flop. With KQo that was about the best flop you could hope for. I would lead out with a pot sized bet. If he is willing to flat call that on the flop, then I'd be suspicious that he had a made flush, a set, or perhaps the ace of clubs. I really don't see a flopped flush raising in this spot. I'd bet the same amount on the turn as you did on the flop and see what he does. If he raises you here, then you're likely up against a flush or set at this point and I'd dump the hand. If he calls, I'd value bet the river.
I mean, if you were willing to commit $72 to the hand, I'd rather do it betting it and then folding to a raise on the turn, then I would be checking that flop, gaining no information, and then calling down. |
