comments on my first super stack tourney
1. sherman was correct. not worth the time investment (unless you plan on multi tbling throughout i guess)the tournament took 12 hours! 30 min blinds 5k in chips.
2. final table was a lot of fun. one guy said it was 90+ hands b4 one guy went out. blind were 8-16 and i had 1.6 mill so it was real poker from start to finish. 3. i realized against mediocre competition i had an advantage postflop. so i played ak as a draw and usually flat called unless i was in a power position to make someone committ ai or fold. 4. i was almost never ai and when i was it was on my terms w the goods. in other words there was no pressing need to gamble so i didn't. 5. i used the c-call alot in marginal spots (top pair/overpair or less) this resulted in players literally handing me their chips. 6. i called w weak draws if i felt implied odds were there or if i felt my opponent was weak and i could semi bluff steal the turn .this worked on 7. i learned what a real live big money event was like from a structure standpoint. im not a great player by any stretch but i think it was a good learning experience and worth trying once if you have all day literally. |
