the flop raise in hand 1 is awful especially against a tight opponent. i prefer calling and re-evaluate the turn, where i'd fold if he bets again. definitely fold river though.

i think a fold in hand 2 isn't terrible but we are getting 3.5/1 so i'd probably call too.

Hand 1: I 3bet pre here alot w/ position on these types of opponents. As played, I think turn call and river fold are ok.

Hand 2: With such a light flop raise he has a strong hand (flopped straight or set) and every variation of the straight got there by the river, should be a pretty standard fold.

ok thanks!
@optionsguy: why do you think the flop raise in hand 1 is bad ?

I think im ahead on this flop most of the times he will c-bet most of these flops with hands im ahead of since its sb vs bb and I want to take it down right there, not letting him see the turncard.

because if he 3 bets you pretty much have to fold and he could 3 bet with as little as AK but much more likely he has a set of Js or an overpair. either way, once he calls your flop raise it's pretty much shut down time for me.

hand 1:
call flop in hand 1, a raise will only be called by stronger hands. If villian bets again strong on turn I prefer a fold here.

Hand 2: I can imagine calling the flop but would have to fold to that river valuebet. Everything got there.

you don't want to raise the flop because it gets you into *tough* spots like ur in now. just flat the flop and see what he does on turn. usually here i flat flop, flat turn if he bets, and then decide wehther or not to vbet river. if he checks to u on turn u can bet 2/3 or something.
