9xBB raises are often decent pairs (QQ-88) not wanting to see a flop, but it could be trash or AA/KK trying to build a pot quickly, Hard to put villian on a hand, but one thing you can say is that usually villian isn't going to fold to a raise.

Your hand certainly seems too good to fold to a bet less than 10% of effective stacks. Pushing doesn't have enough fold equity, and raising will pot-commit you and re-open the betting, both of which seem bad. I'd call. Calling here will often freeze villian on the flop and you can decide if you want to take a stab or see a free turn. If an A or K comes you clearly have to go to the felt, even though some times villian is going to have you crushed with a set.

First, a difference between MTT and cash is that AK=nuts in a MTT. That being said, I'd be somewhat inclined to call in position here, becuause 1) the position thing and 2) stack sizes are kinda odd for a reraise. Also, the 9x aspect should be enough to keep the riffraff out, so hopefully you'll be HU on the flop.

These sort've situation comes up quite a bit, though normally 30BB stack size v 3BB raise with a slightly weaker than AK hand facing a slightly weaker raise. I feel that coldcalling is best here since raise/folding is awful &amp; raise/calling {or shoving} isn't hugely +EV whilst calling must be +EV
